Steve quoted me my move at $75/hr for two guys and a truck and boxes. Showed up 2 hours early on moving day without boxes leaving me scrambling. Showed up with 3 guys and a small uhaul. Not enough for my 2 bdrm apt. $400 cash deposit. would get $ back after job done.

THEN halfway through move. Not only is is $105 an hour, I was charged another $436 on TOP of the $400 because of a second load to move because they're truck didn't fit it all.

BROKE My bedframe. Put a hole in my painting, broke my lamp and multiple rips in my mattress topper. Said insurance will cover it and not to worry.

He then blocked my cell phone. I tested that by hiding my caller ID and calling. He answers, "Hello Movers". Wont answer and I am screwed out of my money and insurance for the stuff they broke. He also refused to provide me with my bill/receipt.

I am currently in contact with Peel Police fraud division as I'm not the only one they have scammed out of money. Karma and the law will catch up to these guys.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $836

We booked the moving service with this company by phone, and it has become nightmare as soon as they started to move the furniture onto their truck. What they have done are:
1. Damaged our furniture badly.
2. Damaged the wall in seller's house during they moved the furniture, the seller had to send a claim to the insurance company.
3. Made us pay and sign the invoice (3 men vs 1 woman). They wouldn't allow us to check the invoice or discuss about the unexpected payment.
4. Even worse, after they loaded the furniture onto their truck they forced us to pay them additional money, they threatened they would not make a move to proceed if we don't give the extra money that they asked for.
5. After they took off, we found that they sneakily switched all the nails on our beds and took the original nails.
6. We have one queen bed and one double bed, after they left we found they had installed the queen's frame onto double's bed and the double's frame on queens.
7. We paid them labor cost for 6 hours, and they worked not even 5 hours and then drove their truck away, they almost run us over when we stood in front of their truck and tried to stop them from leaving.

Service cost: $1280

Messaged "Steve" (definitely not his real name) to have a fridge moved from Ancaster to Guelph. He originally said $100. I replied back that it's a big, heavy fridge, he came back at $189 plus tax. We went back and forth and finally settled at $170 cash tax included. They were supposed to be in Ancaster for 8am to pickup the fridge. They showed up at 9:50am. No call or anything from "Steve" mentioning they were running mega late. I called "Steve" at 9am to ask there whereabouts, "Steve" mentions the truck brokedown. Finally the fridge arrives at close to 11am at my house, I asked the workers what happened to the truck, they had no recollection of the truck breaking down at all, hmm that's funny, that's not what "Steve" had mentioned. All of a sudden "Steve" is now asking for $255 plus HST for the delivery or he is not releasing my fridge to me.

After letting "Steve" know that it is illegal for a moving company to bait and switch the quote by more than 10% and to hold my property ransom for payment and that I would contacting the police he finally then gave the go ahead for his workers to release the fridge to me.

I had all of our interactions in written text with proof of everything that was quoted. His reasoning for the up-charge was the distance travelled. Sorry "Steve" I gave you both the pickup and drop off locations before you agreed upon a price, not my problem you didn't to in to account the distance. The distance didn't change from the time it was quoted to the time of delivery. And you really think I was going to pay any more than quoted after you were 2 hours late??

What a crook this "Steve" is. He will way under quote you and then try to charge way and above at deliver time.

Do not trust this filthy business man.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $170

Set up a chesterfield suite move with this company for a Saturday at 2:00pm for $180.00 plus tax. ($205.00 total). We waited at the pickup address for half an hour and they were a no show? Tried to call and text twice no answer or call back. Had the seller of the furniture call and they answer right away! Seller gave the phone to me and John the dispatcher tells me that the move was scheduled for Sunday?? I have all the text messages showing it was always set up for Saturday with no mention of Sunday what so ever!! Rescheduled for Sunday 10:00am due to no truck or men being available. Very embarrassing and disrespectful to our seller and us. Sunday morning comes and John calls and wants to know what they are picking up?? All this was already clearly communicated to him previously!! He then informed me that the price had now gone up to $220.00 plus tax because we scheduled a Sunday move?? We did not schedule a Sunday move, we scheduled a Saturday move that they did not show up for!! I told him that I was paying the original $180.00 plus tax by cheque. Which he agreed to. When the delivery van arrives they refuse to accept our cheque and tell me it's $220.00, to which I let them known about my conversation with John the dispatcher. The chief delivery guy immediately then changed the story to because there are seven steps up to the living room and it's Sunday we must pay the $220.00. We must pay by cash or email transfer before they will leave the property. Use this company at your own peril, I can't repeat myself enough..their pricing does not match what is in their ads nor on their web site..you pay for what you get, please don't be fooled by this company!

Zoom Movers in Cambridge are absolute dishonest crooks in their business dealings with their clients!! They are definetly not interested in repeat business. They are not qualified nor equipped to move an upright or any other piano!! Move was pre quoted at $380 plus tax. Steve was informed of the location 46km one way. It was explained that the piano was an upright located on a main floor with easy access to the outside therefore no stairs or obstructions to deal with. I asked for a truck with a lift and not a ramp and he wrote ok done. I had to assist with loading and unloading. They asked for payment when piano was incorrectly loaded on truck of 590.00 dollars. I got no statement. I thought I would just get the move done and over with and handle it with their main office. I still as yet have not received any reply to explain their price!! Or for any refund..

When we booked our local residential move, Steve quoted the job at 4 hours at $105 - no mention of other costs.
Twice he called to confirm the move on a date other than what we booked. They did show up on the correct date at the correct time.
At that time, Steve wrote up an invoice but would not give me a copy - he included extra fees for travel time from their office to our home; extra fees for stairs in the home; extra fees for moving large items; extra fees for shrink wrapping furniture. And he required payment in full for all these fees plus 5 hours at $105. We did this by a combination of debit and credit cards, because it was moving day and we had to be out of the house.
They had a 3ton truck, so did two loads (we were only moving 4km) but left some furniture behind after the second load, saying there was no room and they were not making a third load - although Steve offered to come back another day for the remainder!! We moved these left-behind items in our own vehicles.
At the new house, we found two boxes of crystal dishes broken (we did our own packing, but they were well wrapped and labelled fragile). A large entertainment unit was much damaged, but Steve said he was insured and would email the insurance papers on the following Monday - they have still not arrived. In addition that entertainment unit, which they shrink wrapped, was so badly damaged, that when I removed the shrink wrap, it collapsed, a total loss of a $500 item.
Subsequently we have called Zoom many times to ask for a refund of one hour labour, and the insurance documents - at first Steve would answer, then hang up on us. Then subsequently the line was always busy. Calling from a different line got the same response. We have now put a fraud claim in to our credit card company for the one hour extra billing and the $500 damage, and are waiting to see what happens next.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE DISHONEST!!

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1650

I must say I esaped a bad move job based on all the reviews. Wish I found this earlier. Anyways booked this moving company as I was 7months pregnant and my husband needed the help. Confirmed with them twice days before move day. An hour after move time finally got through to them only to be told movers went out night before and were too drunk to work. Lol. Uhaul it was. Moved ourselves.

I only communicated primarily through text. Got everything in writing. Lol.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $150

1. We agreed on a price before hiring them. They showed up and demanded 50% more, taking our situation as hostage.

2. They took the money upfront (non-optional!), drove our stuff to the new place, emptied in the garage, and the moment I looked away they ran to the truck and ran away! Didn't answer phone. Even their (imposed) condition was for 3 hours, but they ran after 2:20, having already taken the money.

I even called the police but they said they can't do anything. Had to ask friends to come help move stuff upstairs.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $350

Here are the facts:
1. They show up with a small U Haul; told them it won’t fit all the stuff and they say will do two loads
2. They asked 500 CAD deposit before they start the job
3. Will load till the truck is full then asked us to pay for 4 hours calculating the unload time when they were still at load location
4. I paid 1050 CAD for 2 hours and 45 min actually because as soon as they DUMPED the stuff at new location they said will take a lunch break and come back for second load. NEVER showed up or answer the calls
5. When asked for furniture damages they said they have insurance…
6. They showed an invoice but never gave me a copy of those papers.

Service cost: $1050

They advertised $19 per hour per person/mover. I asked for 3 men for 2 hours. They charged me $210.00 total + tax and should have been approx $120.00. It was to move furniture and boxes within the home only. When they arrived they indicated additional charges for travel in the amount of $105. I chose this company because they were in Oakville where I live. They also charged for stairs which was later dropped after discussion. They finished in just over an hour and started booking their next gig. They refused to help move items in the yard. In their defence, they moved items without issue but would not recommend them.

Service cost: $355

Before I get into the negatives, I'll start with the positives. I received a confirmation call the morning of the move. The movers were on time. That's all I've got for the positives
As for the negatives, there are quite a few! When I first called "Steve" to book the movers, I requested 2 movers + truck. Steve quoted my move at $225 (3hr move), with a $100 deposit. The morning of the move, I received a call from Steve saying I need 3 movers (completely impossible since I was just moving a 1 bedroom). I insisted that I only need 2 movers. To my surprise when I opened the door, there were 3 men with a cube van!! What the heck. I immediately called Steve to ask him what the additional fee was for the extra mover. He then told me $540 was the initial price as I was paying $105/hr. I'm not sure how $75/hr turned into $105/hr. I told him there was no way I was paying that price considering the price online was $75/hr for 2 movers and a truck. I told him no more than $300. He told me to send an e-transfer right away for his men to start moving my furniture. I did just that. moving forward, after the second trip to my new place, I noticed my mattress had a cut in it that looked deliberate, and my wood furniture was all scratched up! I called Steve to complain and he said he would contact the driver and get back to me. I waited 20mins and no call ever came to me so I called him back. Surprise surprise, no answer and the voice mail box was full. I made seveal attempts to call Steve with no answer so I called the driver directly (obtained his number when he called to say he was outside). I called the driver and mid sentence of asking why my furniture is all damaged, the call was disconnected. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and called back when my call was forwarded to a voice mail which was full.

My Husband previously wrote a review for Zoom Movers..this is a follow up. I have never in my entire life worked with such an unprofessional company as zoom. In our move they damaged a few items, they over charged us for an hour. We tried to communicate with them about the issues, they said they would refund us the difference and also send us an insurance claim form. This never happened after many phone calls, which often were disconnected or never answered !! We decided to report them to the Better Business Bureau and also to our credit card company. We were able to get a refund through our credit card company, however Zoom had 45 days to dispute this. During this time with the help of the Better business bureau Zoom offered to give us some of the cost of the damages and to refund is the hour over charge. We agreed. They were going to etransfer us in three seperate transactions, the first one no problem. Then Zoom got their credit card statement and realised they had refunded the money to us through that avenue. Thus giving us more than we expected as a refund, this was not our intention and were going to let the credit card company know it had been settled. I was contacted by Zoom by text and phone calls, with language that was totally unprofessional, lots of swearing, harassing texts, I was totally flabbergasted that as a customer they would treat me this way. They also tried to black mail me into deleting any reviews I had written and they would give me more money. I have kept all the texts and printed them off, they are unbelievable, lots of swearing. I was so angry and wish we hadn't settled through the Better Business Bureau and stuck with the refund from the credit card company as it was what we had asked for in the first place, we didn't ask for more than the damage or the overcharged hour. I hope people read these reviews and do not use ZOOM MOVERS, and incredibly dishonest and unprofessional company. Never in my life as a customer have I been treated as badly as by Zoom moving company.

I just had my cargo moved using zoom movers drives by Steve . Steve decide a price with me higher than average based on puting my shipment boxes in my basement which is right beside my front door. He insist on tax included. He then changed the price once he load the shippment to his truck. And took the money cash in advance as there is no way to that I can load it back .when he reach my house, he refuse to put them in the basement as we agreed instead he put them in the ground floor. He shout at me when I asked him to respect his deal with me. He loudly told me z" call police or CRA. You will get nothing". I called the police and they mention that this unfortunately happen if you have no written contract or sms. Be sure to maje sure about tax as he cheats too much in this matter.So be careful and avoid them cause they know how to play on the system. If you have to deal with them. Sign a paper withthe detials whatever is simple and put the cost and tax.

If you want to totally get screwed then go ahead hiring these movers.
I don't understand how a company like this still can operate in a country like Canada.
The owner of the company is unprofessional, I have never experienced such a traumatic experience with any person like the company owner "Alax".

1. He is exploiting freshly new immigrants
2. His game starts once they load your furniture, they don't have any respect to previously agreed hours or rate. I ended up paying 3 times more than I was supposed to pay
3. I experienced filthy language, swearing.blackmailing, bullying in the 5 hours I had these movers working with me
4. Nothing good about this company except for pain, mental agaony and ending up paying more than your hard earned money.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $630

This company is very dishonest and unprofessional. I contacted this company to get a quote for 2 persons to move me from a one bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom in the building next door on the day of the move 3 of them showed up I said to the driver Alax why is there 3 people when I requested 2 his reply was is because I have large furniture which he didn't know until the day of the move because he didn't come over to my apartment to give me a quote.
On the day of the move he asked me how I was going to pay I said by credit card he then proceeded to tell me that he didn't take credit card only cash. I went to the bank and got the cash when I returned to the apartment to unload my stuff from the truck he refused to do it until I pay him the money I even showed him the cash and he still refused to unload the truck he states that it is the company policy. I told him that I would never use this company again his reply was that's OK we have lots of other customers. My furniture was damaged and I didn't get a receipt from him I reported them to the Better Business Bureau and his reply was that I am lying. Bottom line don't ever use this company if you like good customer service and for safe delivery of your furniture without any damage.
I have moved over ten times in my life and I have always used a moving company never in my life have I ever experienced anything like this. In the future I will be checking the reviews on google before I do business with any company.

I contacted them requiring movers on short notice, which they happily provide apparently..they attempted to switch times the same day..I couldnt..the next day at 7 a.m I recieved a rext saying they would be there at 10..3 hours early..no can do sorry..so then they tell me to have 500.00 cash for deposit..alam bells now but is hours away from move, im stuck..they show up, load one residences belongings, then close the door and lock it..they then asked me for another 460.00 or I don't get my furniture back..nice try, now im calling police..the police tell me it is my faultb because I didn't get a quote in writing..I thought being told 110.00 per hour( no mention of any other charges yet) was my quote..sorry Owen Sound Police, for thinking I could trust a business..Steve( the owner, and definately an alias) insists he is doing no wrong, and agrees that for 100.00 dollars more ge will deliver my belongings..since I am stuck I agree..so they drop them off, I pay another 100.00, tgen they say I didn't pay..The police arrive again, and tell me how disappointed they are that I did not follow thru with the agreement( altho I did) and they could care less that they had already ripped me off 400.00 without foing the job, now the polic3 are helping them with another 100.00..far as im concerned these crooks should have been arrested and charged with fraud..DO NOT USE THEM..not only are they dishonest, they are slow and inefficient as well..afterwards I recieved several nice texts calling me names and stuff, and threatening me as well (wait and watch) what happens to me was the theme lol.
